VILLAGE

When heading for Chepstow from Gloucester, Minsterworth is the first Village after leaving the A40 for the A48. It is about three miles long, has about 180 dwellings with an attractive and much used Village Hall adjoining which is the Village Football Ground.

The older part of the village lies along a lower road, running between the A48 Main Road and the river, on which may be found St. Peter’s CofE Church, an interesting building (an excellent Church Guide is available), on Church Lane and which is alongside a footpath to one of the best sites for viewing the Severn Bore.

There are Found books available (hard copy) please contact Terry Moore-Scott @ terrymoorescott@outlook.com:

  • A History of Minsterworth
  • Minsterworth in Old Photographs
  • A Minsterworth Miscellany
  • Discovering Old Minsterworth

Anyone wanting to know about Minsterworth events can do so by obtaining a copy of “The Villager”, a monthly booklet now in its 7th year of publication. All dwellings in the parish receive a free copy each month by courtesy of the Parish Council and Village Hall.
